Hawaii Is Reopening - Here Are The Details

BREAKING NEWS – Hawaii is re-opening to tourists!  As someone who is just a 5 hour flight away from Hawaii, this was SUCH exciting news to me!  The news that has come out states that starting on August 1st, it will be possible for people to travel to Hawaii with the following condition – you MUST have a negative COVID-19 test when you land.

If you arrive in Hawaii and you DO NOT have a negative COVID-19 test in hand, you will be required to do a 14-day quarantine when you arrive.  According to GoHawaii.com, the specific item you need to have in hand when you arrive is a valid negative COVID-19 polymerise chain reaction test from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments certified laboratory prior to arriving.  Your test must have been taken within 72 hours of arriving in Hawaii or it’s not valid.

In addition to the negative COVID-19 test, travelers will also have to adhere to the following rules:

–  People will still required to have their temperatures taken when they arrive as well.

–  Masks must be worn at ALL Hawaii airports.

–  There will be NO testing done at any airports – each traveler is responsible for paying for their own test within 72 hours of arriving in Hawaii.
